Coon Creek Watershed District Board of Managers seeking board member to fill vacancy

Anoka County is notifying you that there is a vacancy on the Coon Creek Watershed District Board of Managers due to the expiration of Erin Lind’s term on May 27, 2026. Because the Watershed District is considered a watershed management organization, Anoka County is accepting applications to fill the vacancy for a term through May 27, 2029. For your information, a copy of the published notice is enclosed.

Persons interested in being appointed to serve as a watershed district manager may submit their names to the county board for consideration. To be eligible for appointment, an applicant must reside within the watershed district boundaries, be eligible to vote in the district, and may not be a public officer of the county, state, or federal government, except that a soil and water conservation supervisor may be a manager.

The Anoka County Board of Commissioners will appoint an eligible resident who can fairly represent the various hydrologic areas in the watershed district. In arriving at its decision, the county board will review the applications and other information as required, up to or including interviewing the candidates.

Note: interviews may not be required for every appointment.

The appointment will be made by Tuesday, August 25, 2026. For consideration, applications are requested by Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
