City Park Tennis and Pickleball Courts Reopen Following Major Investment in Recreation

The City of Columbus is pleased to announce the reopening of the City Park tennis and pickleball courts following the completion of a significant reconstruction and resurfacing project. The improvements are part of the City's ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing recreational amenities for residents.

The project was included in the City's Capital Improvement Plan as an investment in park infrastructure and recreational opportunities. Construction included a complete resurfacing of the courts, new color coating, and updated striping to accommodate both tennis and pickleball play. The renovated facility now features two courts, including one court striped to accommodate two pickleball courts, providing flexible use for multiple recreational activities.

The City awarded the project to Goodmanson Construction, with a total project cost of $126,500. The investment reflects the City's dedication to preserving high-quality recreational facilities and responding to the growing popularity of both tennis and pickleball within the community.

"This project represents an important investment in one of our community's most popular recreational amenities," said Assistant City Administrator Aaron Berg. "By rehabilitating the courts and incorporating opportunities for both tennis and pickleball, we are providing residents with a facility that will serve users of all ages for many years to come."

Residents are encouraged to visit the newly renovated courts and enjoy the improved playing surface throughout the season. The project is another example of the City's continued investment in parks, recreation, and quality-of-life improvements that benefit the entire Columbus community.
