Candidate Filling Period

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 205.13, that a general election will be held in the City of Columbus on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 for the purpose of electing candidates for the following offices:

• Mayor

• City Council Member at Large – 2 seats

The filing period for these offices begins on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 and ends on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Office hours for filing are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the exception of Tuesday, July 21, 2026 and Tuesday, July 28, 2026 which are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Candidates for City Offices must file with the City Clerk (or a designated deputy if the City Clerk is unavailable) at Columbus City Hall located at 16319 Kettle River Boulevard, Columbus, Minnesota.
