MnDOT set to resume construction on Hwy 97 starting March 23, weather permitting.

Hwy 97 Closure Begins March 23 (MnDOT Project Update)

MnDOT will resume construction on Hwy 97 on March 23, 2026. Hwy 97 will be closed between Everton Ave. and Hwy 61 through fall 2026. All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent. Access to residences and businesses will remain open. However, local access to and from Hwy 97 will change in the construction zone.

Local access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and essential services. A single westbound shoulder lane will remain open for local traffic.

Access to properties within the closure area must be made by traveling south on Forest Rd. N, turning right onto Hwy 97, and proceeding westbound to Everton Ave.

Through traffic should follow posted regional detours via I-35, Hwy 8, and Hwy 61.
