Columbus PTO seeks volunteers for playground construction project

Columbus community, the elementary school has ordered two new playgrounds now they need our help! In an effort to keep costs as low as possible, this will be a community build project. The build will take place from Thursday, August 13 at 2pm to Saturday, August 15 at 2pm (the latest).

The following jobs need filling: 

Construction leads - We ask that you please commit to being present for the entire three days. You will be under the guidance of site supervisors. You do NOT need to have prior construction or engineering experience for this role. You should have good leadership skills and be comfortable organizing other people. Need to be able to listen well and follow directions. Ability to stay on task and direct others to do the same.

General Construction Volunteer- Must be a hard worker, able to take direction and be a team player. Construction background not required.

Clean Up & Flex- Help clean up construction debris. Be able to help with minor construction duties. May be asked to help in a variety of tasks.

Food Coordination- Help prepare and serve food/water to all volunteers. Food will be provided by the PTO. 

All tools needed will be provided.

We kindly request that kiddos are not present at the community build. We hope to have a few volunteers who can supervise children in the ball fields away from the project if they need to be at school during build.

Food, drink, seating and shade will be provided throughout the entire timeframe.
